NOLS Wilderness First Aid Course (WFA)
A large part of good leadership is knowing how to deal with emergencies and unexpected situations in the backcountry. This 2-day Wilderness First Aid course is the perfect addition to your outdoor skills.
This course will focus on:
- emergency care for accidents and environmental incidents,
- adapting medical skills to outdoor environments,
- patient care system to deal with injuries and illnesses that usually derail great trips.
This course is taught by NOLS Wilderness Medicine Instructors with years of outdoor and front country emergency medical experience. This course is ideal for trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals in remote locations.
- This course can be used to re-certify a NOLS WFR Certification that is still in good standing.
- Participants must be over 16 years old, or participate in the course with a parent or guardian.
- This NOLS course is pre-approved by such organizations as the American Camping Association, the United States Forest Service, and other government agencies.
